Almost like a baby picture

You know the ones.....

you have taken in your adorable toddler/grandchild/ neice and nephew/ puppy to a studio and the next thing you know you are forking out 20 bucks for a photo. ONE photo.

One you know would only cost 2 bucks to print at Wal-Mart and maybe even less on your home computer....

but you get sucked in.

You have to have that image...that shot, that one perfect glimpse in time.

That is how I felt when they e-mailed me this image

Because while I know that I am not perfect, this moment was.
I was afraid to run my first half marathon alone. I was afraid to run it in a different place, I was afraid to run it after laying around for 2 months with a bummer ankle and toothache.
But I did it anyway.
All by myself....
....and this photo takes me right back to the moment that I did it.

So for that, I will pay.

Do we really capture enough of the celebration moments to relish and relive?

What's more, do we give ourselves cause to celebrate?

For Kristina- and anyone else who is quite ready to run a half yet, feel free to photo shop your face here.

I won't even be sad if you trim the waist and legs a bit and fix the hair. As long as your doing it, make it look good!

I can't tell you how many of those photos I have puschased for a ridiculous amount. However, as I sit here at my desk looking at the photo of my dad, Sean and I finishing Boston Marathon, and the photo of my boyfriend at the time, now husband, finishing the Ogden, no amount is too much to have captured the memories. Even better, you look fabulous in your photo!

So...I'm sitting here all teary-eyed because you have added yet another dimension to your already full resume! More tears because I have signed up for a gym and gone every day for the last 4 days. Not long, I know, and yet yesterday when I dragged in to the gym, the first thing I asked was "What's the LEAST amount I can do and still be effective?"
I was so stiff and sore and had the WORST day at school....yet I know I have to go workout every day or I'll start sluffing it all off. So I admire your strength and courage and perseverance. Kudos!
